Saturday Session
Our free weekly session, with up-to-date CASC stations played live and discussed together.
Weekly practice in small rooms, then a group discussion. New stations every week.
Knowing the theory is only part of CASC preparation. At some point you need to practise: speaking to patients, managing your time, structuring your approach and thinking on your feet. Often the hardest part is finding the right people to practise with, and that is why we created these sessions. We run them every Sunday throughout the year, so you can join whenever suits you.
After a short overview, you practise 6 scenarios over 90 minutes in Zoom breakout rooms, usually in groups of three. Everyone rotates through all three roles, so you are the candidate twice, the role-player twice and the examiner twice. Seeing the exam from every seat is one of the most valuable parts of the session. For each scenario the candidate receives their own instructions, the role-player receives detailed role-player instructions, and the examiner receives a structured marking sheet with the relevant domains. After every station the candidate receives their marks and domain-based feedback by email.
We then come back together for the discussion. We go through the key learning points from the stations and focus on the week's topic: how to approach these situations, which questions matter, how to structure your station, what examiners are looking for, and how to communicate naturally rather than memorise a script. Because you have just attempted the stations yourself, the discussion connects directly with what you experienced.
You can join the whole session, or only the practice or the discussion part, whichever suits you. You don't need to be perfect before you join us. That is exactly why we practise.
